Here's a fun weeknight meal: chicken tenders battered and pan-fried in crushed pretzels.  They come with a delicious pub cheese sauce too!

Pretzel-Crusted Chicken Tenders with Pub Cheese Dip

Ingredients

Chicken Tenders

  • vegetable oil for frying (1/4 to 1/3 cup)
  • 6-8 chicken tenders
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup pretzels, crushed
  • salt & pepper, to taste
  • Pub Cheese Dip

  • 4 oz. pub cheese spread
  • 2-3 Tbsp. sour cream
  • 2-3 Tbsp. cream
  • 1 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
Serves 4-6
Cook Time: 25 minutes

In a medium or large sauce pan heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Coat tenders (one at a time) in flour, then egg wash, then crushed pretzels.  Fry tenders up (in batches if necessary) until golden brown on each side and internal temperature registers 165.  Set aside to drain on paper towels.
Meanwhile, in a small sauce pan melt pub cheese sauce, once melted add sour cream, cream, and Dijon.  Stir to combined, cohesive, and warmed through.  Serve immediately.
